Georgia Tech SAT Requirements Many schools say they have no SAT score cutoff, but the truth is that there is a hidden SAT requirement. This is based on the school's average score. Average SAT: 1465.
If you are admitted and choose to enroll at Georgia Tech, you are required to submit official test scores. You must have official test scores in your admission file before your FASET Orientation session, or you will not be allowed to register for classes. Use the school codes below to submit your scores: SAT school code: 5248; ACT school code: 0818.
Georgia Tech recommends but does not require that applicants submit an SAT Essay along with the rest of the exam. Since the essay is an optional component of the test, students considering Georgia Tech should take note of this policy. TIP: if the essay isn’t required, does that mean your child should still take it?At Georgia Tech, we have found the current SAT Writing section to be predictive of freshman success. The redesigned test will take portions of the current Critical Reading and Writing section to create the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Score.Georgia Institute of Technology Main Campus typically requires applicants to be in the top 5.0 percent of SAT test takers. The school consistently takes SAT composite scores down to 1390 on a 1600 scale, below which admission should be considered a reach. We estimate some students could be accepted with SAT's as low as 1310.0.
Admissions officers at the top engineering schools will also be looking for a strong high school record, good letters of recommendation, a well-crafted essay and meaningful extracurricular activities.
